Research and Learning

Research and learning are core business at Te Whatu Ora - Waitematā and contribute to the achievement of our promise of 'best care for everyone'. Te Whatu Ora - Waitematā collaborates with tertiary education institutions, other Te Whatu Ora - Health NZ districts, NGOs, primary health care providers and industry partners to substantially strengthen and embed best-practice learning, research and the associated knowledge translation.

Research & Knowledge Centre and Clinical Library

The term “research” in Te Whatu Ora - Waitematā refers to a wide umbrella of activity that includes interventional and observational clinical research, clinical audit, innovation, service improvement and other related activity that occurs locally and/or in collaboration with research and innovation partners.

Organisational Development

The Organisational Development Team develop and support capable people to achieve our  priorities. Whenua Pupuke Waitematā Clinical Skills Centre, overlooking the lake at North Shore Hospital, and our Simulation Centre at Waitakere Hospital house many of the academic activities taking place across Waitematā - developing employees to build confidence, improve performance, and practice their clinical skills.
