- Board meetings are open to the public
- They are able to observe but not participate in meetings
- Both meeting agendas and minutes are available to the public
- Aspects of some meetings for specific reasons are closed to the public
- Board members are expected to treat all confidential business before the board as strictly confidential
- Members are also expected to comply with all relevant legislation concerning privacy, especially with respect to individuals
- Guidance should be sought from the Board chairperson where members are unclear about the treatment of particular information
