Anaesthesia

The Department of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine provides anaesthesia services to North Shore Hospital and Waitakere Hospital. 

We also provide:

• acute pain management to inpatients after surgery or trauma, and during labour
• chronic pain service
• perioperative medicine
• preanaesthetic assessment clinics 
• education for medical students and other allied healthcare workers

The Department is accredited by the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists to provide training and experience for doctors training to become Specialist Anaesthetists.
