The Institute for Innovation and Improvement was established in 2015 to support the board priorities of improving health outcomes and patient and whānau experience.
The Institute brings together expertise in costing analysis, data analysis, digital platforms, evaluation, innovation, leadership, patient and whānau experience, population health and quality improvement.
This is used to support clinical teams in the design and implementation of new models of care and best practice care processes. The Institute is leading the DHB's clinically-led care redesign and enhanced care management and building capability in the DHB to ensure current and future health challenges are being met.
The Leapfrog programme includes a number of organisation-wide projects contributing towards improving health outcomes and experience of our patients and families / whānau within our healthcare services.
Combining the projects under one programme provides greater visibility, attention and support from senior management and allows projects to move at a faster pace.
An ability to network and share resources when the projects interlink is also an advantage.
Our promise is best care for everyone. Each of us makes an essential contribution to ensuring Waitemata DHB delivers the best care for every single patient and family / whānau using our services.
Our Board priorities are to enhance patient experience and achieve better outcomes.
The purpose of our organisation is to prevent, ameliorate and cure ill health, promote wellness and relieve suffering of those entrusted to our care.
Each year we present our Quality Account which outlines the areas of clinical and non-clinical care we improve on.
Our aim is to provide safe care which is clinically effective and focused on the individual needs of every patient and family / whānau who enters our services. View information about your safety in hospital.
