We are now offering an online appointment booking service for some of our outpatient clinics at North Shore and Waitakere Hospitals.
This new service will enable our patients to choose an appointment date and time that fits in with work, holiday and caring commitments, rather than being sent an appointment letter with a date and time that has been pre-selected by our booking teams.
When it is time to book your appointment, you will receive an email to your validated email address(external link) which will include a secure link to the online booking service. Appointment booking emails will only come from the following email address: Waitematā DHB Appointment Booking (BookMyAppointment@outpatients.waitematadhb.govt.nz)
On clicking the booking link in the email, you will be asked to enter your date of birth as an extra authentication step. You will then be directed to the appointment booking page so you can choose a suitable appointment date and time and book your appointment.
Once your online booking has been made, we will send you a confirmation email with additional information about your appointment. You will also be able to reschedule or cancel appointments that you have booked online.
This exciting new initiative is being rolled out across a wider range of outpatient clinics over the next 12 months.
How do I know the appointment booking email is not SPAM?
Genuine appointment booking offers from Waitematā DHB will ONLY come from this email address:
Waitematā DHB Appointment Booking (BookMyAppointment@outpatients.waitematadhb.govt.nz)
What if I don’t respond to the appointment booking offer?
Our booking team will be monitoring booking offers that are not responded to and contact you to either support you to make a booking with the service or get an update from you regarding your need for the appointment.
What happens if I accidentally delete the booking offer email?
Don’t worry - we will send you a reminder with a new secure booking link after 7 days.
How many times can I reschedule an appointment I have booked online?
You can reschedule appointments booked online twice. In the unlikely event that you need to reschedule an appointment more than twice, you will need to contact the WDHB booking team using the email address provided in your booking confirmation email.
What happens if I cancel an appointment that I booked online?
Our booking team will be notified, and your care will be returned to your GP. We recommend you don’t cancel your hospital appointment unless you have received treatment elsewhere or no longer require the appointment.
Can I use my smartphone to book my appointment?
Yes – if your device is setup to receive emails, you will be able to click the booking link and book your appointment on your smartphone.
