Smokefree training

There are a variety of training options to equip people with the skills and confidence to help others quit smoking.

Learn Onlinee-Learning Smoking Cessation Modules

  • e-learning modules developed by the Ministry of Health. Should be completed by all working in the health field
  • approximately 20-30 minutes to complete
  • for registered health professionals

E-learning is available to all health care professionals. This e-learning tool presents the basics of the ABC(D) smokefree message, and is intended to help health professionals give better help to smokers to quit. An introduction to prescribing NRT, as well as advice on how to tailor brief, effective advice to smokers is included.

Earn continuing education points (endorsed by the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners), or add to your portfolio for professional development. Registered Health professionals have the option to register as Quit Card providers upon completion of the e-learning tool.

Follow these two steps
