BowelScreening uptake is good in the west

Stuff.co.nz(external link) - Nearly half of all Western Leader readers have ticked the bowel screening test off their list.

More West Aucklanders are being encouraged to complete a test kit sent by Waitemata District Health Board's BowelScreening team.

Around 47 per cent of people have been tested in the area.

Of these,1341 people tested positive. Forty-three people in the area found out they had bowel cancer.

David Vinsen, who found out he had bowel cancer after a test, is encouraging others to get screened as part of a regular check up.

The NZ Imported Motor Vehicle Association chief executive says many of us take better care of our cars than ourselves.
