Kauri Unit
Kauri Unit is a fifteen bed inpatient admission, assessment and treatment unit for males within the Acute Secure Care cluster of the Mason Clinic. The unit provides specialised and professional forensic psychiatric services in a purpose designed medium secure environment.
The unit delivers individualised care, treatment and support to all service users from a holistic perspective. Biological, psychological, legal, social, spiritual, and cultural needs of all service users are accounted for whilst maximising personal dignity.
Through accurate and thorough assessment the skills, abilities, and insights of our service users are maximised and rehabilitation needs identified whilst preserving the safety of the person, other service users, staff and the community.

Visits are for 30 minutes and are to be booked by phone. Special visits may at times be arranged through the unit manager, depending on personal circumstances. For all public holidays, with the exception of Christmas Day and New Years Day, Saturday/Sunday visiting hours apply.

Totara Unit
Totara Unit is a 15 bed medium secure rehabilitation unit that provides care for 11 men and 4 women. Patients are admitted for court assessments or transferred from prisons for assessment, treatment and rehabilitation. The common need is for mental health care and management in a secure hospital environment. Education and general programmes are provided on the unit which cover sporting, educational, social, cultural and leisure activities.

Rata Unit
Rata Unit is a 15 bed unit that provides mental health care and recovery support for male consumers who require post-admission intensive services as part of their rehabilitation pathway.
The unit provides specialised and professional forensic multidisciplinary services in a purposely-designed recovery supporting environment and therapeutic milieu.
The unit delivers individualised care, treatment and support to all service users from a holistic recovery based perspective.
Through accurate, thorough assessment and subsequent intensive habilitative, rehabilitative and personal growth promoting interventions, the quality of life and community reintegration potential of our service users are maximised.
