The Waitemata region has a population of almost half a million people living across North Shore City, Waitakere City and the Rodney District. We provide a range of health services to these communities including secondary services such as:
- Medical

- Surgical
- Obstetric
- Assessment, treatment and rehabilitation (for older people)
- Mental health
- Community and disability services.

- Child disability services
- Forensic psychiatric services
- School dental services
- Alcohol and drug services.

- 78,871 people visited North Shore and Waitakere Hospital's Emergency Care Centres last year
- 5,965 people received acute procedures in 2008
- 7,800 people received scheduled elective treatment
- The maternity unit was busy with 6,350 babies being born
- There were over 20,000 women who had breastscreening in the Waitemata Region last year.
