Reducing health inequalities is one of the objectives of the New Zealand Public Health and Disibility Act 2000, under which DHBs were established. In particular DHBs are working to reduce the inequalities experienced by Maori, Pacific peoples and people with lower socio-economic status. This indicator focuses on ethnic inequalities.
